The Second International Conference and Exhibition Internet + Transport Opens in the Areal Congress Hotel
The conference dealing with the integration of digital technologies into transport industry has been attended by the developers of software, control systems, equipment and components, as well as by representatives of federal and regional authorities, experts and scientists.
The business agenda of the first day began with a plenary session entitled Digital Revolution Challenges. How Can Real Sector Adapt to a New Technological Reality. The participants of the session addressed such issues as technological progress, new digital reality and their impact on Russian economy. In his opening speech, Evgeny Charkin, IT Director of JSC Russian Railways, noted, “Digital corporate culture will make us more competitive. Using optimized processes and modern digital technologies to create a high-quality, convenient and comfortable transit of goods through Russia will give a competitive advantage not only to Russian Railways, but to the country as a whole”.
Jukka-Pekka Suonikko, Vice President for IT at VR Group, spoke about cooperation between Russian Railways and VR Group in the field of IT, namely, railway transportation between Finland and Russia with the use of electronic data exchange only, the support of accurate and timely data exchange between customs offices and data validity monitoring.
Denis Izmagilov, Head of Investor Relations Department of SEZ Innopolis, presented the special economic zone. Innopolis is a new project developed on the territory of Tatarstan (Russia) that has its own University, a rich technology park, a special tax regime and an increased transport accessibility. The project is designed to make Innopolis one of the world’s IT centers and help Russia become a leader in the field of information and communication technologies.
Konstantin Parshin, Vice President, Executive Director of Energy Efficient Technology Cluster at Skolkovo Foundation, touched on major companies’ priorities and prospects in the digital economy era: “The main thing that matters for digital economy is data. They allow us make new services, find new sources of income and, as a result, improve customer satisfaction”.
The 1st International Conference and Exhibition Internet + Transport gathered more than 200 officials, experts and representatives of leading IT and transport companies. The event was attended by representatives of Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Moscow Government, GLONASS JSC, Yandex, Mail.ru Group, Rambler, TransContainer, Ozon, X5 Retail group, Russian Post, TakeBus, UbiGo Innovations and others. The conference has become a significant event for transport sector.
